What is Equine-Facilitated Psychotherapy?

Equine-Facilitated Psychotherapy (EFP) is an effective  therapeutic approach that can serve as primary treatment or as an adjunct to a patient’s ongoing therapy. Regarded as experiential therapy, EFP allows patients to learn by doing, thereby providing the opportunity to put into practice some new ways of thinking. EFP can have a powerful impact on patients presenting a range of issues, including addiction and co-addiction, childhood sexual abuse, PTSD, grief & loss, anxiety & depression, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties.
